Direct Access
The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) allows riders aged twenty-one or over to take a test on a large motorcycle, allowing them upon passing the test to ride any motorcycle without restrictions. You must complete CBT (which you can do as part of an intensive course), a motorcycle theory test and take a practical test on a motorcycle of at least 35 kW (46.6 b.h.p.). We use 500cc bikes, which are ample for this task.
The Direct Access courses that we run are three and five days in length, depending on the competency of the rider. The three-day courses are subject to a one-hour assessment lesson. The five day course are run over the week, all course can be tailored to suit your requirements. Our training courses are quite flexible in approach and we run training courses seven days a week. You can run your course over weekends to fit it in around work, but your last day (test day) would need to be on a weekday. To discuss your specific requirements give us a call.
If you do not have your own motorcycle, do not worry. We have both 125cc and 500cc machines.
In preparation for the practical element of your course, we strongly advise you get and digest The Official DSA Guide to Riding - the essential skills..
